Acer Spin 5 - Portability & Flexibility Combined!

Acer's spin series of notebooks offer an ideal converged solution, where tablet meets laptop. The Spin 5 runs on Windows 10 (64-bit), and incorporates a 360-degree hinge system - to cater for the above transformation - along with what it calls Continuum....

Continuum basically allows you to utilise the device in a number of ways i.e. as a traditional notebook for typing emails, documents etc. or as a tablet, ideal for browsing or even drawing via your hand thanks to the Multi-touch technology or the supplied Acer Active Stylus Pen.

Additionally the Spin 5 can simply be used as a space-saving display mode or in a tent configuration (imagine opening a book and resting both edges onto a desk) which you could use for sharing presentations or for say watching a movie.

In terms of specification the Spin series now caters for Office professionals as well as gamers (GTX 1050 card). However which ever option you go for you will gain access to faster and more reliable wireless connectivity thanks to the incorporated Acer ExoAmp antenna which provides 802.11ac MU-MIMO wireless technology. Thus, by linking up to a compatible MU receiver it can provide faster downloads speeds than a standard wireless connection.

Screen wise you will find a 15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) 16:9 IPS display. The latter is also boosted by Acer’s BluelightShield tech which minimises eye strain, Acer Colour Intelligence which maximises colour saturation for bright and clear visuals, and Acer TrueHarmony for crisp and clear audio.

Acer Spin 5 – Choices are good!

The Spin 5 can be purchased with either an Intel Core i5-8250U (3.40 Ghz Turbo speed) or a 7th Generation Intel i7-8550U Quad-core processor. You'll also get 8GB of DDR 4 RAM as standard and a 256GB SSD to power the Windows 10 OS (along with options for an additional 1TB SATA on select models, SD and SDXC expansion).

Bringing up the rear are 4 USB ports (a mixture of USB 2.0/3.0) and security conscious users will also appreciate the finger-print scanner for added security.

The Acer Spin 5 is available now starting at £799.

Exact specifications, prices, and availability will vary by region. To learn more about availability, product specifications and prices in specific markets, please contact your nearest Acer office via www.acer.com.
