Avios first major UK loyalty company to launch rewards skill for Amazon Alexa
Avios has announced the introduction of its new skill for Amazon’s Alexa Voice Service – making it the first major loyalty company in the UK with a skill on the device. Amazon’s Alex Voice Service is now available in the UK through Amazon’s voice-controlled speakers, Amazon Echo and Amazon Echo Dot.
Alexa is the brain behind Amazon Echo and enables customers to play music, get information, news, sports scores, weather and more, just by asking. Alexa also provides capabilities, or skills, that help customers to interact with services in a more intuitive way, using just their voice. Avios has worked with Amazon to create the first skill that enables Avios Travel Rewards Programme customers to get their latest Avios balance; by simply asking Alexa a question, they can learn how many Avios are in their account, how many Avios are needed for a particular reward and ask for suggestions on how to boost their Avios balance.
