Parkour Founder David Belle Partnered with Dying Light

It has been revealed that David Belle – actor, stunt coordinator, and founder of parkour – cooperated with Dying Light developers Techland to help bring authentic parkour to the gaming world. Techland worked with David Belle to verify the depiction of parkour in Dying Light, test its authenticity and even got his personal approval before the game hits stores. The video (which you can view in the media section at the base of the article) titled ‘David Belle & Dying Light – Zombie Parkour’ documents his input on the game.

“David’s influence really helped us push the parkour system to a point where it felt authentic yet still intuitive and worked perfectly in-game. We’ve had so many journalists and external playtesters say to us that this really is game-changer in terms of first person perspective freedom of movement. “ – Adrian Ciszewski, Game Director

David Belle is known mainly for his influence on founding and shaping the now global sport of parkour, with videos of his skills spread throughout the internet. These skills have also led to a prominent career in film with main roles in films such District 13 and District 13: Ultimatum written and produced by Luc Besson, as well as stunt coordinating roles for films such as Babylon A.D., Transporter 2, and The Family.

The video is the second part of parkour-focused news about the Dying Light. Last week, Techland in collaboration with Ampisound released ‘Dying Light Parkour POV’, a live-action video about an insane escape from zombies through the city rooftops, inspired heavily by the game.
