Sony PlayStation E3 2014 Highlights

Sony’s presentation @ E3 2014 was a continuation from last year, however there was certainly more of corporate vibe compared to the Xbox One showMind you it kicked off proceedings in style with a cinematic trailer showcasing the upcoming Destiny Game; which looks set to be one of the best games on the new-gen platform(s).

In fact PlayStation users will have first dibs of the game and on July 17th gain access to the BETA! However PS4 users (starting this Thursday) will also get chance to gain access to an early 3-day Alpha gameplay version by registering their interest (requires PSN ID) here…

DestinyPS4

On top of this in September (9th) Sony will release a special Destiny Bundle, featuring 30-day access to the PlayStation Plus service, a copy of the game, the PS4 console and DS4 - which will all be adorned in white! No news on price yet.

Infamous First Light (out August)

Infamous Second Son DLC was announced as well, but interestingly - despite being DLC - it’s a standalone addition. In English this means you don’t need the original game to play it. However if you do own the original you will get exclusive extras (though these were not revealed).

Little Big Planet 3 – Now we are talking!

Coming to PS4 in November Sack boy is back! However this time he has brought some additional characters along ie. his pet OddSock and his new friends called Toggle and Swoop. So in a Worms fashion each of these new characters can interact with the environment differently, for example Toggle is strong so he can push heavy objects, but he is slow (though he can shrink to fit into smaller to reach places), while Swoop can fly. Gameplay wise it looks great!

The Last of US Remastered for PS4

A trailer was shown for the above game and it will feature a remastered version of the awesome PS3 title of the same name. The remastered addition will include FULL HD 60fps graphics, plus higher resolution character models, improved lighting and shadows, upgraded textures, functionality unique to the PS4 controller and more. Plus the game will include the Left Behind DLC, all difficulty modes (including Grounded Mode the newest, hardest difficulty level) for single player and both multiplayer map packs; Abandoned Territories and Reclaimed Territories.

Far Cry 4

We also got to see a new trailer for Far Cry 4 which features a drop-in/drop-out “Guns for Hire” Co-Op mode, meaning that you and a friend can take on the wilds of Kyrat as a pair, exploring the world, taking down enemies and generally making everything as precise or as chaotic as you choose. Both players get experience, both players get in-game cash, and both players have an awesome time.

Plus if you get the game on PS3 or PS4 you’ll get a set of “Keys to Kyrat”. The keys open up Kyrat’s borders to any of your PSN friends, inviting them into your open world even if they don’t yet have a copy of the game.

Far Cry 4 arrives November 18th, 2014 on PS3 and PS4.
